Each vehicle is different and some vehicles don't even have a timing belt, they have a timing chain. When a mechanic is changing a timing belt there are a few other things can can be changed at the same time to save you time and money. On most vehicles it's best to change the water pump and thermostat and check all pulleys associated with the timing belt. Better to do these jobs while the timing belt is already off and this is where you can save the money on labor costs.
